Chamomile is an herb that comes from the daisy-like flowers of the Asteraceae plant family. Chamomile tea has been used for ages as a home treatment for various illnesses. The abundance of antioxidants in chamomile tea may also help to reduce your chance of developing a number of ailments, including as cancer and heart disease.
HEALTH BENEFITS OF AUSSICA CHAMOMILE TEA
- Improves Sleep Quality
The special qualities of chamomile may enhance the quality of your sleep. It contains apigenin, an antioxidant that binds to specific brain receptors that may increase slumber and lessen insomnia, or the persistent inability to fall asleep.
- Promotes Digestive Health
Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, chamomile tea may offer protection against gas, nausea, stomach ulcers, diarrhoea, and other common ailments.
- Protection Against Certain Types of Cancer
Chamomile contains the antioxidant apigenin. It may help to reduce inflammation and the risk of developing a number of cancer forms. According to some studies, apigenin has been shown to fight cancer cells, especially those of the breast, digestive tract, skin, prostate and uterus.
- Controls Blood Sugar
Drinking chamomile tea may aid in lowering blood sugar levels. Its anti-inflammatory characteristics could prevent the pancreatic cells from becoming damaged, which happens when blood sugar levels are chronically high. Some studies have shown that chamomile tea may lower fasting blood sugar levels by a considerable amount, and it may also be beneficial for preventing blood sugar spikes after eating.
- Promotes Healthy Heart
Chamomile tea is abundant in flavones, a class of antioxidants. Flavones have been studied for their potential to lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, which are important markers of your heart disease risk. One study of 64 diabetic patients found that those who drank chamomile tea with meals had noteworthy improvements in their total cholesterol, triglyceride and “bad” LDL cholesterol levels, compared to those who drank water.
ADDITIONAL POTENTIAL HEALTH BENEFITS
Boosts Immune Function: Chamomile tea is frequently recommended as a method for avoiding and treating the common cold, although there isn’t enough evidence to support this claim. Additionally, it is known to ease sore throats.
Relieves Anxiety & Depression: There is some evidence that utilising camomile as an aromatherapy treatment or a supplement may lessen the severity of anxiety and depression.
Promotes Skin Health: The application of chamomile to the skin through cosmetic items including lotions, eye creams, and soaps has reportedly been shown to be hydrating and beneficial for reducing skin irritation.
Prevents Bone Loss: Chamomile tea may help to stop the loss of bone that can result in disorders like osteoporosis.
